As writers, we are usually too "close" to our own writing to spot the errors.
Passages that make sense to the author will not always make sense to the reader.
An editor can spot those areas and help you correct them, taking your own words and making them the best they can be.
Meet the editor
Hi, I'm Melissa, and I have an oddly instinctual knack for grammar!
My goal is to make your words the best they can be. Whether your writing has a formal or conversational tone or is in AP style, I will work within the vision you have for your writing to polish it up and make it shine.
I have nearly 15 years of experience as a newspaper proofreader and copy editor, five years as a freelance book editor, and 3.5 years as an online content editor.
