Five Essential Oils to Get Started With

Five Essential Oils to Get Started With
Essential oils are one of the easiest tools for naturally dealing with a wide variety of health ailments. However, so many people never get started because they just don't know which oils to begin with. I'm here to change that.

Now, remember, this is my opinion of first oils for a person with general ailments. If you have a specific health issue you want to address, feel free to reach out to me, and I'll gladly give you some more tailored advice.

1 – Lavender
Lavender is maybe the most versatile essential oil there is, which is why I recommend it first. If your budget only allows you to start with one oil, make it Lavender.
Potential uses:
- Soothes skin irritations, like minor burns, scrapes, bug bites, or blemishes
- Promotes a feeling of relaxation when you're stressed

2 – Peppermint
When you're starting out, Peppermint is a very versatile oil that can do a lot of things with one bottle, and it's budget-friendly.
Uses:
- Soothes digestive upsets
- Reduces head tension when inhaled or applied (diluted) to forehead/temples/neck

3 – Eucalyptus
I still use this oil regularly, and again, it's easy on the budget, though it maybe isn't quite as versatile as the previous oils on this list.
Uses:
- Helps clear sinuses and airways to improve ease of breathing
- Can be diffused, used topically, or sprinkled in the shower to provide effects
- Creates a spa-like atmosphere

4 – Lemon
I'll admit, lemon isn't my favorite scent, but it's another oil I use regularly, and it's beginner budget-friendly.
Uses:
- Add to cleaners to remove sticky or greasy residue
- Adds a bright note to diffuser blends (and is an inexpensive oil to diffuse)
- Combine with Lavender and Peppermint if you experience symptoms of seasonal irritants

5 – Frankincense
Frankincense is a more expensive oil. At least, it should be if you're getting it from a reputable company. But there's a saying, "If in doubt, put Frank on it," and it's true. It has a wide range of benefits.
Uses:
- Helps alleviate feelings of stress
- Rejuvenates skin and reduces signs of blemishes or aging
- Reduces swelling and discomfort

Those are just a few ideas of how essential oils can be used and just five of the dozens of beneficial oils, but they give you a good base for a variety of uses.

Where to Buy Real Essential Oils
I'm not going deep into the quality aspect here, but it is crucial since most oils on the market are synthetic, adulterated, or distilled in a way that doesn't keep all the benefits of the plant. Personally, I use and recommend this brand due to their sourcing standards. I haven't found another company that controls the whole process like this one does.
