3 Reasons I Believe in Plant Medicine
1 – I don’t believe God would create this world without a means to heal ourselves.
I don’t know what you believe about the formation of our world, but if you believe, as I do, that it was created by a loving God, then we really need to follow the logic.
Would a God who loves us create us and then just drop us here on the earth alone to experience lives of sickness and suffering without the means to heal ourselves?
I don’t believe in that god. I believe in the one who created our bodies with an amazing ability to heal themselves. They only need the fuel to do so.
And what did God create on the earth for us? Plants. They are both our food and our medicine.
2 – It has worked for thousands of years.
Modern/western medicine has only been around for a relatively short period of time. Yes, it is all that most of us have known, but a hundred years is a tiny fraction of the span of human history.
How did people survive without the medicines we know today?
They used what the earth provided. Plants have incredible powers to keep us healthy and give our bodies what they need to heal. Whether it was peppermint tea for an upset stomach or aloe on a burn, our ancestors knew which plants were good for which ailments, and they weren’t afraid to use them.
Some of the “old remedies” people scoff at today actually hold a lot of truth, and if we gave them a chance, we might be surprised at how effective they are.
3 – It has worked for me.
So knowing something once worked for other people is only worth so much – am I right?
We need personal experiences.
I get it. I was a skeptic too … until I tried natural methods.
I reached a point where it was either try the natural ways, or I was going to be medicated for probably the rest of my life. I had nothing to lose, so I did some research and gave it a shot, not really expecting a whole lot.
But it worked!
And then, I tried a natural remedy for something else, and it worked. And then for yet another ailment, and it worked.
It has literally been a string of success after success after success. Sure, those successes don’t always come immediately. Sometimes, I have to try a few different things, but that’s okay because I know my body is actually healing and not just having symptoms masked by a drug.
I am 40 years old, and I have not taken a prescription drug in more than 14 years. For that matter, I have not taken an over-the-counter drug in at least six years.
I feel better than I did in my 20s with fewer headaches, more energy, better sleep, less stress, and fewer sick days.
That is the power of plants.

Meet Melissa Denelsbeck

For years, I was trapped in a fog, never feeling 100%, always tired but too stressed out to get a good night’s sleep, struggling through headaches 3-4 times each week. Almost every afternoon at work, I would hit that mid-afternoon slump and be unable to keep my eyes open. Often, my headaches would start around this same time and last through the rest of the day. All I wanted to do was go home and sleep, but when I went to bed, my thoughts would race, and I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep.

I felt like I was stuck in a never-ending cycle of fatigue – tired all day and wide awake at night, and the headaches just made it all more difficult to deal with. I pushed on as well as I could through the sleepiness and the pain, but I never felt like I was functioning at full capacity.

Then, I started making some changes in my life and becoming aware of what I was putting in and on my body. Over time, I realized that my headaches were becoming less frequent, and my sleep quality, energy, and mental clarity were improving.

Now, a couple years later, I feel my energy levels remain steady from the time I wake up until I go to bed. I am able to quiet my anxious thoughts and fall asleep quickly at night. And the headaches? They’re so infrequent that I can’t even say how often they come – maybe 3-5 a year?

It wasn’t even that difficult a change to make. I just swapped out products in my life that were contributing to my bad health, and I replaced them with versions that enhance my wellness instead.

It’s a step-by-step process that you can take at your own pace, and I am here to be your guide on the journey and empower you to take back your own health!
